Having a dog for 15 years is an amazing blessing, but it also makes for a very sad farewell. My dog Lucie died. She wandered off on Thursday and someone found her just down the street Saturday night. She hadn’t been hit by a car and she didn’t drown in the creek she was found beside. She actually looked rather peaceful. Some people say this can happen with an old dog: they just "know" and wander off to find a comfy place to pass away.
