I'd love to own a hen but you need to have at least two hens and this would produce too many eggs!. I'd happily pay for someone nearby to own and look after my hen in return for half a dozen eggs a week. I run a website called http://www.yours2share.com which brings together people who want to share any valuable assets and farm animals could easily be included. If any farmers wish to find people who want to buy a share in an animal, they could advertise here free of charge. I love this idea and think it could apply more widely.
