Christina,

As you know by reading Think and Grow Rich, this book is based on the theory of "the power of the mind", how imagination, combined with desire and fueled with persistence is the way to reach great accomplishments. Sexuality in this context falls under the category of desire, because sexual energy can be used to fuel your acts to reach a particular goal.

Each of us has a sexual desire, some more than others. However, this desire is based on the individual and not on gender. Some individuals are more sexually charged than others. However, this does not mean that only those who are sexually charged can accomplish great things. If you through personal analysis have discovered that sexual stimulation is not your greatest drive, then apply this same theory to your emotional aspect (change the perspective) from "sex" to emotion, ie desire to love and be loved. I can assure you that your emotional capacity to love, to give yourself for someone else, is in essence the message that Mr. Hill was referring to. He was trying to transmit the point that each of us has to know ourselves well enough to find out what our "drives" are and when we become aware of those drives to use that energy as our fuel to implement the concept of desire (the driving force of the mind) into our lives.

I hope that the words I have used to reduce this concept to words are adequate to transmit the point. Best wishes on your road of personal development.

@Christina If you put the book into its historical context, I think you can assume that the vast majority of the readership was male. While Napoleon Hill does say that ANYONE has access to all these teachings, he still was a smart marketer by focusing on his readers.

Also, according to interviews and things I've read from others who researched Hill, this chapter is not talking about sex with others... ;-)

I wonder what forces women have to harness in themselves? I mean, women's sex drive is nowhere as powerful as men's (and I know some people won't agree to that comment), so what kind of power can we as women channel towards excelling in life? Is being a good wife/partner all that's required from us to survive?

Nice Dave,
Pretty deep for my shallow mind. I'm a pretty simple guy and for me when I was still only a child the only desire that drove me as you suggest, sex. It wasn't until I realized how to harness this passion with discipline and see the end before I knew results.

What I mean is divorce was not an option for my wife and I when we married. With that in mind six children and 8 grands later we have grown be thankful and respect the gift of sex with each other.

Back to the beginning all I ever wanted in life was a good wife and children. Funny how that turned out for us COMPLETE!
